Terms.

Last updated 26 August 2026

The agreement between you and Live Photo Lab. We have tried to write it the way we would explain it out loud, because terms nobody reads protect nobody.

The short version

  • Your photograph stays yours. The video we make from it is yours too.
  • Upload only photographs you have the right to use, and be decent about photographs of other people.
  • Payments are one-time. Nothing renews, and credits you have bought never expire.
  • Files are deleted after seven days. Download what you want to keep. We are not a backup service.

Using Live Photo Lab

By using this site you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not upload anything.

You need to be at least 13 years old to use Live Photo Lab, and old enough to enter a contract where you live in order to buy anything. If you are paying, you confirm the payment method is yours to use.

Who owns what

You keep every right you already had in the photograph you upload. We do not claim ownership of it, and uploading it does not give us the right to use it for anything except making your video.

The video we generate is yours. Once you have unlocked it, you may keep it, share it, print from it, show it at a funeral or a birthday, or post it publicly. We ask for nothing back and we take no cut.

You give us one narrow permission, and only for as long as we hold the file: to store your photograph, send it to the AI model that animates it, and deliver the result back to you. That permission ends when the file is deleted. We do not use your photographs or videos to train AI models, and we do not licence them to anybody.

What you may upload

Live Photo Lab is built for family keepsakes — the photographs people keep in shoeboxes and on mantelpieces. Bringing back the face of someone who has died is one of the things it is most used for, and it is entirely welcome here.

You must have the right to use the photograph you upload. If it shows a living person who is recognisable and is not you, only upload it if you have their agreement or would clearly have it.

Do not use Live Photo Lab to make anything that is:

  • Sexual, sexualised, or involving a minor in any sexual way.
  • Illegal, hateful, harassing, or designed to demean somebody.
  • Deceptive about a real person — putting words, actions or endorsements onto someone that they never said or did, or passing generated footage off as a genuine record of an event.
  • An impersonation of someone for fraud, or an attempt to defeat identity checks.

The AI model that makes your video also applies its own safety filters and will refuse some material outright. If we find an account being used for any of the above, we will close it, and we may keep a minimal record of why.

Free previews and paying

Everyone gets a small number of free keepsakes each month without an account. Free videos are watermarked and play on this site rather than downloading.

Removing the watermark gives you a 1080p HD MP4 to download and keep. A single keepsake is $7. There is also a 5-photo pack at $19, and a 12-photo album pack at $39, where the extra videos arrive as credits you can use whenever you find the next photograph.

Every purchase is a one-time payment. Nothing renews, nothing is a subscription, and credits you have paid for do not expire. Prices are in US dollars and may change, but a change never affects credits you already hold.

Payment is handled by Stripe. Your card details go to Stripe directly — we never see or store them. You do not need an account to pay; the email address you give Stripe becomes the way back to what you bought.

If something goes wrong with a render

If a video fails to generate, you are not charged for it, and if the attempt used a credit that credit is returned to your balance automatically. You are welcome to try again with the same photograph or a different one.

AI generation is not predictable. A result can be technically fine and still not be what you hoped for — a movement that looks wrong, a face that shifts, a detail invented. That is the nature of the tool rather than a fault, and it is exactly why every keepsake is watermarked and free to watch before you decide whether to pay for it. Please look at the preview properly first.

Refunds

If something is broken, tell us and we will refund you. If you paid twice by accident, or bought the wrong pack, or a file will not download, write to support@livephotolab.com and we will sort it out.

Because you can watch the finished video before paying, we do not generally refund a keepsake you have unlocked and downloaded simply because you changed your mind about it. Unused credits are a different matter — write to us and we will refund those.

None of this affects any refund right you have under the consumer law where you live.

Files are deleted after seven days

This one matters more than anything else on the page, so it gets its own heading.

Every photograph and video is given a deletion date when it is created, that date is shown to you on the page, and a scheduled job removes the file when it arrives. Seven days is the current window. After deletion the file is gone and we cannot get it back for you — not from a backup, not on request.

Download anything you want to keep, as soon as you have it. Live Photo Lab is a workshop, not storage. Paying does not extend the window; it gives you a clean file to take away.

Availability and changes

We will try to keep the service running and working, but we do not promise it will always be available or free of faults. We may change how it works, add or remove features, or stop offering it. If we ever shut down we will give reasonable notice and time to download what you have.

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms. If we close yours for that reason, unused credits are not refunded.

If we change these terms we will update this page and move the date at the top.

Where our responsibility ends

Live Photo Lab is provided as it is. We do not warrant that a generated video will meet your expectations, be free of artefacts, or be suitable for any particular purpose.

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability to you for any claim is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before it arose. Nothing here limits liability that cannot legally be limited.

You are responsible for what you upload and for what you do with what you make.

Getting in touch

Questions about any of this, or about something that has gone wrong: support@livephotolab.com. A person reads it.
